Brian May now has "a shiny new knee." The Queen guitarist underwent knee replacement surgery Tuesday afternoon.
He revealed his situation on his official website, BrianMay.com. Just before the procedure he wrote that he was about to "go down for the chop," and that he "may be quiet after that." But afterwards he offered an update, admitting the process is "no walk in the park" but it's left him feeling "optimistic and free of that OLD pain" for the first time "in months."
May doesn't say how long his post-op rehab will take.
He also mentioned his surgery in a post late last month, explaining that his knee was "deteriorating in spite of intensive physical therapy." He added that he had "great trust" in his "knee Prof," and was confident he was "in good hands."
